Album Review: St. Lucia

Looking for some “good vibes”? Immerse yourself into the revival of tribal melodies and 80’s pop by picking up your own copy of ‘When The Night’ by St. Lucia, that was just released October 8, 2013. This album is for all the Brooklyn-based listeners with a bit of a twist with the work of synthesizers. Their most popular tunes include “All Eyes On You” and “Elevate”, two great listens among the rest of their album.

St. Lucia is the stage name for South African-born singer, Jean-Philip Grobler, who later teamed up with some of his friends: Nick Brown, Ross Clark, Nicky Paul and Patricia Beranek. This group of a fantastic five wins the music lovers over with its upbeat and addicting melody from the very first track, “The Night Comes Again,” to its last track in the album, “Closer Than This”. Grobler’s voice is extremely captivating amongst the catchy instrumentals, bringing upon a new kind of music into the industry. St. Lucia is a definitely unique and worthwhile band to listen to, that suits nearly any time of the day. The experience of listening to them is indescribable and is a must for all you indie pop listeners out there! You’ll really understand why they are a quickly-rising group.

The band has been an opening act for artists such as Ellie Goulding, Charli XCX, Two Door Cinema Club; the list just goes on! I’ve gotten the pleasure and honor of seeing them open up for TDCC; needless to say, it was a night to remember. And now, it has also just been recently announced that St. Lucia will be having their own When The Night Tour in the next year. Keep your eyes peeled, ladies and gentlemen. You don’t want to miss out on this!

Be sure to check out St. Lucia on Spotify, and if it’s to your liking, pick up the album itself!
You truly won’t be disappointed!
