Trim’s Survival Guide to a Single Valentine’s Day

Hello Trimzies,

The day of love and romance is approaching, and the bitter smell of singleness is the air. Just kidding! Being single on Valentine’s Day is made out to be a horrible, painstaking event, but not having a romantic partner does not mean the holiday should be a total disaster. Valentine’s Day is more than just flowers, chocolates, and fluffy stuffed animals. Valentine’s Day is about the spirit of love, and there is something to be said about cherishing, appreciating, and expressing the love for those around you.  So get ready to make Valentine’s Day 2014 a day you will never forget!

Bring back the Old School

Remember elementary school Valentine’s Day? It is quite nostalgic. Those days were filled with classmates passing out Barbie, Pokémon, Stars Wars, My Little Pony and other themed cards along with candy hearts and chocolate. Recreate this old tradition on your dorm floor, in your apartment, or among friends. Making others feel loved with make you feel loved in return.

All the Singles Ladies (and Guys too)

Round up your single friends and have a night to remember! Being with friends, especially those who are single will help you feel less alone. Even invite your coupled friends who may not have plans this Valentine’s Day. The memories you create will end up becoming more important than you being single. Let your friends know you love them!

Buy yourself flowers

A lovely bouquet of fresh flowers will definitely brighten up your day! The sweet scent will fill up your dorm or apartment whiling adding a pop of color to your room.  Loving yourself is the best thing you can do!

Hit the Gym

Break out a sweat! On Valentine’s Day, the gym is bound to be a ghost town. Try a new workout or stay on your favorite machine longer. Going to the gym will make you feel accomplished and awesome about yourself and your body!

Go Shopping

There’s nothing a little retail therapy can’t fix! Browse the racks, pick out your favorite clothes, and try them on. Trying on funny outfits you would never wear in public are acceptable too! Or buy yourself a gift for Valentine’s Day. You deserve it!
