Weekly Wears: April 1st

Hello pretties,

Happy April! It’s officially springtime and mother nature seems to have let go of the cold weather (knock on wood). It’s time to break out all your floral prints, sandals and maxi dresses. With all of your fun spring clothes, there’s only one accessory that perfectly compliments any outfit: spring colored nail polish.

This season it seems like pastel colors are all the rave. Currently I’m sporting white nail polish, which I felt went well with my easter outfit of light yellow. However, there are tons of different fun colors to choose from. Essie has a great collection of pastels, and bright spring colors. Screen Shot 2013-04-01 at 11.33.55 AM

On top of using bright and fun colors, a little nail art is always cool to show off. Try some fruity designs like strawberries or watermelons.

f0d5405adc92b6eb1f9e421875695020These are really easy to create. All you need is a tooth pick and a few different colors, and you’re ready to create your very own fruity nails.

Next try mixing different pastel colors. These colors compliment each other very easily and add a pop of color to any ensemble.

Again this is a very easy look to create. You can use tape to section of the polish, or if you have a really steady hand you can just use the brushes.

Another classic spring look is the accent nail. Use a bright spring color on 8 of your nails, and then choose another color to accent the nails left.

Lastly, and my personal favorite, I like to call the “hardware” nail. Using neutral colors, take some spikes or pearls to add some texture to your nails.

I hope these colorful ideas put you even more in a spring-y mood, and have fun wearing all your new spring clothes this week.
